Identity & Cyber Security (ICS), part of COG Technology, defends Macquarie’s information. The team ensures adequate protection of information from inappropriate disclosure, that integrity is maintained, and information is available when required.
The Secure by Design team is responsible for translating the business vision and strategy into effective enterprise change by creating, communicating and improving the key security principles, standards and models that describe the enterprise future state.
The team is responsible for working with other internal and/or external teams from end to end through the project life cycle: to provide security advice, to define security architectures/designs for their initiatives and projects and perform security assessment of project design and implementation.
As part of its innovation charter, the team needs to stay abreast with the global security landscape and find innovative solutions to secure business initiatives through ongoing relationships with vendors and partners.
The Secure by Design team consists of the Head of Secure by Design, and multiple Security Architects.
the role is that of a security architect with aligned responsibility for the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) business/technology area to work on cloud acceleration projects for the business
work closely with internal and/or external teams to provide security advice, define logical and physical security architectures/designs
develop security-related integration architectures/designs for applications and infrastructure (including public cloud)
develop reusable security architecture patterns, both logical and physical
perform security assessment of project designs and implementations
provide security engineering expertise if needed
the role will be based in Sydney.
10+ years experience in technical design and architecture roles
7+ years security experience in large enterprises, preferably in global financial services
current or previous experience in configuring, operating, designing and architecting security solutions for business and technology initiatives
familiarity and experience in formal security architecture aspects, including logical and physical security architecture/design
familiarity with SABSA, NIST 800-53, Open FAIR, MITRE ATT&CK, threat modelling and related methodologies or frameworks
demonstrable experience working with public cloud (GCP, AWS), containers, Kubernetes and related technologies
experience with security engineering, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and application development desirable
familiarity working within an Agile environment desirable
demonstrates a sound understanding of vendor technologies and roadmaps, and remains current with key IT industry themes and emerging trends
excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively about abstract and complex topics to a range of audiences.
