The Role

You will provide infrastructure and operations support in order to maintain and improve infrastructure components within the organisation. The role will have responsibility for AIX, HPUX and Redhat Linux systems across the Insignia Financial group.

There will be a requirement for After-Hours Support on a rostered basis. In addition, there will be a need to schedule work out of the normal Monday-Friday business hours, in order to minimise impact upon the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Support infrastructure systems and applications within the environment
Virtualisation, management and monitoring across all operating system platforms
Internal Security Management ‐ Anti‐Virus & Operating System platform Patch Management
Escalate any potential performance issues with the environment or service providers – internal or external
Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems software and related hardware
Establish or streamline operational procedures with a focus for automation
Maintain, manage and implement the disaster recovery plan
Participate in Infrastructure Technology projects
Ensure appropriate documentation is produced/maintained to communicate the technical environment
Complete service requests and resolve IT issues within the published service level agreements, in a timely and professional manor
Management and escalation of IT incidents and requests
Provision and manage user access to IT systems and applications as per defined standards, policies and guidelines

To Be Successful in This Role You Will Possess:

Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
3+ years’ experience in a similar role in operational support
Proven skills with administration of IBM Power systems and AIX
HPUX and Linux experience advantageous
Broad knowledge of hardware and software
Scripting and some Ansible coding ability
Understanding of the AIX and VIO Technology Levels & Service packs and experience in applying them
Understanding of the HMC software levels and experience in applying them
Understanding of the Power System and device firmware levels and experience in applying them
Understanding of the AIX Technology Levels & Service packs and experience in applying them
Understanding of the AIX JFS2 file system and Logical Volume Manager
Understanding of AIX NIM master and client topology
Experience with PowerVM, Power Virtualization, HMC gui and CLI
Experience with various performance tools such as LPAR2RRD nmon
AIX LPM skills and experience
