So you’re ready for something new?
Our Azenix Delivery Leads are responsible for the delivery of projects and products, typically using Agile methods.
You’ll need to work closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts and the rest of the team to define the vision, keep everyone on the right track and ensure common priorities, feeding this into the prioritisation of work ensuring that all products are built to an appropriate level of quality. The Delivery Lead is a servant leader to the team, and steers them in the right direction by removing ‘blockers’ or obstacles to progress, managing stakeholders, and tracking the commercial and/or financial success of the engagement. However, as a role model, the role is not afraid to get their hands dirty using the skills they have to assist with delivery of working software.
The Delivery Lead focuses on improving the flow of work into, and out of the team and applies their knowledge of lean agile principles to build a self motivating, self organising team that continuously improves how they work. Project reporting, including progress, financial tracking, and risk and issue management fall within a Delivery Lead’s remit, and the role often requires working with stakeholders to adjust plans, processes and project scope to deliver successfully for the client and Azenix.
On a day-to-day basis, a Delivery Lead usually leads or facilitates agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and other sprint ceremonies, and coaches the teams on Agile tools and techniques. The Delivery Lead also keeps their finger on team engagement and happiness ensuring that there is not only a productive working environment, but also that the team are happy at work.
The Delivery Lead works closely with the Product Owner to develop the product roadmap, and with the Business Analyst to ensure that work is ready for the team to pick up according to their cadence. The delivery lead also often works closely with the Client Engagement team when managing stakeholder relationships and expectations.
As a Delivery Lead you will:
You will promote agile ways of thinking within Azenix and our clients, and contribute to the creation and ongoing development of our Delivery framework.
Lead a cross functional team and be the model for Azenix values to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Your role will include identification and proactive resolution of delivery risks and issues, delivery escalations within Azenix when required, and client stakeholder management.
Elicit information from stakeholders and write up as user stories
Maintain and manage the product backlog
Provide support and potentially run planning sessions, retrospectives and showcases.
Run user story grooming sessions
On occasion you may step into a more senior delivery leadership role and/or manage multiple teams
